What’s up? There are 4 teams left in the NBA Playoffs, being:
Indiana Pacers
Boston Celtics
Dallas Mavericks
Minnesota Timberwolves
All 4 of these teams have a shot to hold up the Larry O’Brien trophy this season, but what would it mean for the franchise itself, and the players on the roster? Let’s look into it.
Boston Celtics
For the franchise itself, the Boston Celtics will become the all-time leader in champions one, with 18, one more than the Lakers 17 rings. This would also finally get rid of the Jayson Tatum who can’t win a ring stereotype, finally being able to notch one. Actually, this is going to be the first ring for basically all of the key players on the team…outside Jrue Holiday; who won with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2021. The Celtics just won 64 games, with their best players being way under 30. They are easily going to be up there as favorites to run it back for multiple chips. The Celtics haven’t won a chip in nearly 15 years. A championship here would finally explode the most annoying fanbase in the league. I’m not so sure about it, but I’d like to say nearly everyone outside of Boston wants the Celtics to lose…just a thought. I think it’s Boston’s ring to lose.
Indiana Pacers
The Indiana Pacers, if they pull off the miracle and win, will have their first championship in franchise history. Pascal Siakam is the only key player to have won a championship before; who won it with the Raptors in 2019. His leadership alongside Tyrese Haliburton's engine on the court, is going to be the way they could maybe, just maybe, win the chip. They are for sure the least likely out of any of the teams to win, but there’s a shot. Haliburton is going to go way up in people’s rankings as a player and so is Pascal Siakam. Myles Turner has had a great, great playoff run, so his stock is going to rise as well. The role players around them are also going to get their stock up, as this team is filled with depth. The Pacers winning would be, honestly, amazing for the NBA World as well. You see a small market, that retools by trading for Tyrese, who blossoms into a star. Proving that you don’t need free agents to win a championship.
Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks winning a championship, with a European star, 13 years after winning one with Dirk Nowitzki upset over the Miami Heat. Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving might just be the best duo in the NBA. Kyrie Irving would prove that he isn’t a product of LeBron and that he can win elsewhere too. Luka Doncic would finally be pushed into…top 50 players of all time combos? His stats + a championship would do it for me. Mark Cuban would also be a happy man. PJ Washington could be the sole reason they do it as well, being a huge trade deadline acquisition for the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavericks fans are waiting for a championship so bad, after missing the play-in last season. The Mavericks don’t have much to talk about, but they are a good team led by a superstar and a star right next to him. Can this duo do it? I wouldn’t put it out of the question.
Minnesota Timberwolves
The Timberwolves have never even been to an NBA Finals, let alone a championship. If they win this one, it would be their first finals in franchise history, finally ending the drought. Anthony Edwards would be crowned the king of the NBA. (His aura is too strong) and Rudy Gobert would finally be able to prove that he can win in the playoffs. Karl Anthony-Towns has had many critics, but if he can be the 2nd option on a championship team, then I think a lot of those get shut up. Mike Conley, finally, finally, wins a ring. Would be a great ending to his career which seems to slow down after his age. Don’t forget that it’s Minnesota we are talking about. Very small market franchise, so if they win, it’ll be another thing to show to the NBA that big markets aren’t the face of the league. Also the Rudy Gobert trade. Everyone, I mean everyone, said that the Timberwolves got fleeced. However, if the Wolves do win the championship, then that might be one of the bigger win-win trades in recent history. Let’s see if they can pull it off.
That’s all it’s going to be folks. With 4 teams left, they are all fighting to be the last one. This is the result of when each of those 4 teams wins the championship. Who do you have winning the conference finals or the finals? Let me know. I liked talking about this, so that’s all that matters. Anyway until next time,
WE will be BACK.
